The boy who was surfing at age six at his local Merewether Beach has collected three Newcastle Sportsman of the Year awards, life membership of Merewether Board Club, been installed in the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame, Australian Surfing Hall of Fame and Huntington Beach Surfing Walk of Fame, been voted surfer of the year three times in succession by readers of Surfer magazine, been the first surfer to star in the “I feel like a Tooheys” commercials, been awarded an OAM for services to surfing, received an Australian Sport Medal and an honourary doctorate from the University of Newcastle.

Pat Hull is a singer-songwriter from Connecticut currently based out of Chico, CA. His music intertwines a melodic, soulful, counter-tenor vocal range with a unique finger picking style, creating a dreamy landscape with unpredictable hooks and turns. Pat’s newest releases, ‘Origami Sessions’ and ‘Marrow,’ showcase his delicate yet raw ability to compose, sing, write, and perform. Prior recordings include ‘Light’ and ‘Shed Skin,’ recorded and produced in Bennington, VT with engineer, JJ Beck and vocalist, Michael Chinworth. This collaborative effort brought a vocally and lyrically charged center to Pat’s songwriting, and displayed a collection of songs with a detailed and complex configuration of supporting instrumentation.

The process for manufacturing cladding aluminium (Alclad), originally developed for aircraft construction, involves rolling a layer of AlZn1 (aluminium zinc alloy) approximately 5% thick onto the base material under high pressure and at a temperature of approximately 500°C. The original “unhole-y roof” concept was developed in the US in the 1960s, inspired by the efficiency and flexibility of the zips used to fasten clothing. Unperforated sheets of metal were profiled with one small roll standing seam and one large roll standing seam, and secured by placing the sheets over halter clips, with the large roll of one sheet overlapping the small roll of the adjacent sheet. They were then sealed firmly together using a “zipping” machine to close the large roll of the standing seam tightly over the small roll, leaving a secure standing seam. Roll-formed standing seam roofing was first introduced to Europe in 1968, with the opening of a factory in Stuttgart. Today, the concept has evolved and it is possible to achieve complex shapes and geometries, and to use standing seam systems for a range of building roofs and walls.
