Commenter: no names pleaseI started college at 31 and had been on a cash economy all my life. In 2008 I dropped out of my PhD program when their money ran out and I had exceeded all the limits on loans (since they were all changed during the Bush years). Now I work at a museum part-time netting about 10,000 a year, can barely pay my mortgage, and have 150,000 in debt in forebearance not counting the interest to finance it for 30 years. I already paid back a couple of my little loans when I was still in school but I figured if I finished my Doctorate I would have a chance of getting an income that would balance out the debt but there are very little opportunities at this time with all the cuts to the economy. I wrote to Obama and asked him to eliminate all the interest on Gov. subsidized and unsubsidized loans to give people like me a fighting chance to pay it back, plus the bank will make plenty of money already without that extra burden. I never heard back from him yet but I may write him again about it.

Rousey started pleading with Natalya while Cole said she didn’t want to put her away. Natalya came back with a clothesline. Natalya went for a Sharpshooter, but Rousey kicked her away. Rousey hoisted up Natalya and slammed her down, then showed some hesitation before going for an armbar, but Natalya countered out of it and applied a Sharpshooter. Rousey crawled toward the ropes, but Natalya pulled her back a couple times. The second time, Rousey countered into an armbar and got the submission win.

One era began with the opening of Stockton Bridge, but another ended with the last voyages of Newcastle’s famous punts.
Slater saw it. He is a tireless online poster, with a rare degree of patience. On his Instagram feed, a magnet for cranks of all kinds, he has spent years debating flat-Earthers, laying out innumerable scientific proofs that the planet is round. He’s a well-informed environmentalist; right-wing flamethrowers rain hellfire on him for that, and he often takes the trouble to reply to them individually. When the Backward Fins Beth billboard went viral, Slater showed a tiny bit of pique. On the BeachGrit Instagram feed, he wrote, “Funny. Cheap. Character Revealing.” The BeachGrit crew was ecstatic. They had successfully trolled the king.

The whole project took 9 months to complete. The team followed very stringent quality measures during each stage of construction. Despite it took 9 months to complete the rebuild, there was not any trace of surface rust of stains while it was handed over for painting.

A possible newspaper headline, from the not too distant future : ” Homeless people build flying doctors hangars. ” Let’s say you’re living in Australia , enjoying the mining boom. You’re looking for fresh investment idea. You observe that a new AUD$1.6 billion , 42 km toll road bypass is being built around the north side of an inland regional city called Toowoomba, one of the wealthiest cities, per head of population, in the southern hemisphere. You observe, a couple of years ago, that a brand new international airport was built by a local company. This company also manufactures composite fibre bridges, which it exports to various countries, including the USA. Along the bypass, there are various exits. You might be thinking, I’ll build a petrol station and diner, just off an exit. You’ve read of Shell oil company representatives saying that the future of gravy to be made at petrol stations will be made from selling hot sit down meals. You do some research, and read about the famous Howard Johnson restaurant and motels, that were built along the freshly paved US interstate system. You start wondering if a similar chain would be a viable business model, along some of the fresh highways that are being built to service new Aussie mining areas. You decide to do some market research. You ask some truck drivers. They tell you sure, they’ll pay $10-$20 for a hot feed, 3 times a day. You drive up a highway, and you see what appears to be an aircraft hangar converted into a petrol station and diner. It looks very sturdy. You stop for lunch, and ask the proprietor who built the structure. Turns out, it was a guy who builds hangars , as a business. You go home and research hangars, and you discover Nissen and Quonset huts. You research how the 2″ x 2″ x 3/16th” T -bar , or T-section structural members are curved using an AUD $1500 pipe bending machine, 240v . You discover that the corrugated iron can be curved, using an AUD $2500 machine, also 240v. You read that the modern versions of Quonset huts have proven to be quite good at surviving hurricanes in America. Insurance companies like them.
Another Scone alumni to take the cup is Wakefield Stud’s Subzero (1992), which revelled in the rain-affected going to defeat the favourite Veandercross. It was Subzero’s last win, but the near-white gelding became the clerk of the course’s horse and made many appearances on television, at charity functions and at schools. In July, 2008, he was fully retired as he developed arthritis.
— I observed to a man in New York that I was surprised that they had so many cows and so much farming. He said, “Son, this is where it started.”
Kikukawa’s global breakout, however, was a more recent move: the company produced the swirling central ramp and about 1,000 exterior fins – all in an auburn-coloured, hand-patinated bronze – for media giant Bloomberg’s €1bn European headquarters in London. That project, led by London firm Foster + Partners, stretched over five years. “Bronze is an expensive and tricky material to work with,” says Yoshihiko Utsuno, Kikukawa’s president and the youngest son of its founder. Utsuno smiles as he says this: it’s clearly a source of pride and one of his company’s strengths, having spent decades manufacturing bronze doors and other decorative pieces for Buddhist temples.
