The W.S.L.’s grand plan was to expand the fan base, from “the core”—surfers—to sports fans in general. That seemed like a fool’s errand. Surf contests are basically impossible for the uninitiated to watch. The judging is incomprehensible, even to many surfers. The waves, moreover, are rarely excellent, and they arrive on their own schedule—that’s why contests customarily include a ten-day waiting period and still sometimes get skunked. Not ideal for TV. The W.S.L. tried to make the best of these indigenous difficulties with a new motto, “You can’t script this.” That sounded like frustrated marketers attempting to entice dubious consumers to watch.
Commenter: In DebtI have kidney disease and am hoping I die soon so my family can cash in on my life insurance to pay off my student loans. Hell or high water – these loans will not go into default. It’s merely a race against time – allowing student loans to be dischargeable in bankruptcy or my death. We’ll see who wins.
How about the old days of chopping weeds in the row crops? I remember the Bracero Program along the Mexican border where workers legally came into the U.S. to chop weeds, hand plant and harvest crops. The U.S. government stopped the program because it was supposedly taking work from able-bodied Americans. The very next year every cotton farmer in the Rio Grande Valley had bought a McCormick cotton picking machine. Now we spray for weeds or use genetically modified crops that resist insects, weeds and disease. When I was a lad we milked one cow. It supplied butter and milk for our family. Most farmers kept 5-10 milk cows. It took an hour or two every morning. It was the longest part of “doing the chores.” Farmers sold their milk and cream or traded it for goods. Even today in highly automated dairies milking thousands of cows, it is still an intensive, hands-on part of agriculture. The only thing they don’t have to do is milk them!
Underneath this broad definition is the implication that a civilized person has accomplished the departure from manual labor. Has removed himself from the basic requirements to feed, clothe and shelter himself with his own hands.

With trumpeter/vocalist Bria Skonberg "Bria Skonberg plays trumpet like a red hot devil and sings like a dream." – The Wall Street Journal "Ms. Skonberg has become the shining hope of hot jazz, on the strength of a clarion trumpet style indebted to Louis Armstrong, a smooth purr of a singing voice inspired by Anita O’Day, and the wholesome glow of youth" – The New York Times Trumpeter, singer, and songwriter Bria Skonberg is a local favorite taking her place in the jazz/pop lineage pioneered by artists like Harry Connick, Jr., Diana Krall, and Michael Bublé. Skonberg’s music is imbued with a hip, hot jazz vibe that keeps the energy high and provides ample opportunity to let loose with solos. Skonberg’s recent sold-out appearances at Dizzy’s included an evening of love songs from the Big Easy and a celebration of her Juno Award-winning debut album, Bria. We’re excited to have her back in the club for what promises to be a similarly joyful and swinging affair. Only one set is available to the public, it’s sure sell out, so don’t wait to make a reservation!

The whole project took 9 months to complete. The team followed very stringent quality measures during each stage of construction. As per the original plan, They finally had a neat and clean, hand crafted body with no burning, cutting or weld marks on it. Despite it took 9 months to complete the rebuild, there was not any trace of surface rust of stains while it was handed over for painting.
