Stoner’s love of motor bikes began as a toddler in a bike-mad family. By age three he had already graduated from pushing his older sister, Kelly, around the yard on a 50cc Peewee to taking his fi rst ride on his own. At four he competed in his first race in an under-nine category. By the age of six he had won his fi rst Australian title.
“Good point. They are a species not unlike the chewing louse. They produce nothing but more of themselves. They keep busy doin’ each other’s laundry and mooching off us and the trees.”
Have you ever been embarrassed by yer good dog? Me either! I’ve got a good dog. An Australian shepherd with one blue eye and I believe he loves me. I believe I love him. He’ll go with me anywhere. When I say, “You wanna go?” He don’t ask, “Where you goin’? Goin’ to the game store?” No, he don’t care, he just wants to go. And did you ever notice that it don’t matter whether you been gone five minutes or five days, yer dog is so glad to see ya. Can you think of a single human being that is that glad to see ya. Yer fixin’ to leave, walk out to the pickup and forget somethin’ so you run back inside. Yer dog licks yer hand. Your spouse says, “I thought you left!”

14-time Grammy Award winner Paquito D’Rivera returns to the intimate setting of Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola for a rollicking New Year’s Eve performance. Not only is he one of the world’s foremost saxophone and clarinet virtuosos, D’Rivera is also a composer whose contributions to classical music and Latin jazz have earned him both a Carnegie Hall Lifetime Achievement Award and the status of NEA Jazz Master. D’Rivera regularly sells out top concert halls in New York City (he’ll be headlining in Rose Theater in March), but he also knows how to channel his magic into a club setting, working crowds into a frenzy with deceptive ease. Co-headlining the festivities is Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra bassist Carlos Henriquez, "an emerging master in the Latin jazz idiom." (DownBeat) Hailing from the Bronx, Henriquez is at home in both jazz and Afro-Cuban traditions, and he has performed with greats like Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, and Celia Cruz since the age of 14. He, too, regularly headlines concerts in our larger venues, and he’s put together a truly extraordinary band for this gig. Join them at Dizzy’s to ring in the new year with good vibes, great food, and some of the world’s best music… (read more)
“Yup,” said Ernie, “Yer sure right. If his tail had been just a little longer I’da broke even.”
SCENIC (unbroken vista. Only three trees on the place and they grow at forty-five degree angle), 7,500 ACRES (2% deeded), FOUR MILES OF BOTTOM LAND (we cut hay off the bar ditch where the interstate crosses the ranch), GOOD WINTER PROTECTION (we’ve been scattering old car bodies around the ranch since 19682), WATER (every fifty years the Tongue River Floods), EXCELLENT TERMS (one fourth down and a member of your family as collateral).
Commenter: staceyIt just seems there has to be a better way. I struggled to in my first years of school becuase my parents were not paying taxes. I wasn’t married, with child, or in the army so I didn’t qualify without them. I worked my way through a jr college and then took loans for a state university and then paid back my nearly $10k with interest. Then I took out another $40 for grad school and I’m paying on that now… but it has been a nightmare with no places willing to consolidate or refinance and only ONE chance to do so… I have re-fied my home 3 times since I have owned it – why can’t I do the same to get the best rates with student loans… better yet why not keep the rates low all the time so we all have a fighting chance. I intend to pay off my loans – every penny. The sad reality is that my daughter will likly be through college herslef when I do this…. at least I’ll have some pointers for her

“On the third day I tried to ride him and I got bucked off. Then my brother tried to ride him and he got bucked off. Then my cousin tried to ride him and he got bucked off.
Their task was not a quick one: Bob Coverton, an engineer with experience working on high-speed tape duplicators in the ’70s, likened it to working with "mismatched Lego kits."

Then the new baby sniffs, or blinks, or sneezes, or wiggles an ear, and at that moment it feels as though a burden has been lifted from our shoulders. We did it. We did it again. Just regular common people like us, engaged in that age-old profession of stockman, have participated in a miracle; life being passed from one generation to the next.
