You should start by loosening the nuts that hold the guard onto the top of the roll forming machine. To do this you need to place the socket that matches the guard bolts onto the 3/8-inch drive ratchet. You should lift the guard up in order to remove it from the top of the roll former.

To remove metal shavings and any debris that might be in the rolls, you should blow the area between the rolls using an air hose. You should also spray the rolls with cool air and lubrication. This is to prevent the rolls from corroding.

Once everything is in place you should slide the guard back over the studs and tighten the bolts that you had loosened. You should inspect the guard and ensure that no part of the guard falls into the feed area of the machine.

You should now start the machine and slide the side of the metal (that you want to roll) towards the starting guide. You should continue supporting the metal sheet as its being grabbed by the machine.

When the metal is rolled and ejected on the other side, you should inspect it and ensure that the clearances are correct. If the seam is malformed or jammed, you should adjust the rolls.

When you notice abnormal temperature, you should take a look at the galvanic couple and heater. To get rid of the problem you should replace or repair them.

Longer machine circulation: roll forming machines develop long circles when they are faulty or when the metal sheet is stuck. You should carefully inspect the operations of every circle and ensure that everything is fine.
